New Zealand BIO 30™ propolis contains at least 30 mg/g of bioflavonoids, the active flavonoid compounds responsible for the biological activity in propolis, and caffeic acids. The researchers have shown the Caffeic Acid Phenethyl Ester (CAPE) that contain in BIO 30™ propolis suppresses neurofibromatosis tumors.
New Zealand propolis is high in the important dihydroflavonoids pinobanksin and pinocembrin, making up 70% of the flavonoid content.
