Honey with Propolis is the honey enhanced with Brazillian Green Propolis Extract. Propolis is a Greek word. Literally, it means 'protect the city'. The bees use this substance, which is collected from the tree buds, flowers and tree bark to clean and repair the hive. Apart from that protect the entire bee colony from the risk of infection.
Propolis is well known as 'nature's antibiotic' as its rich in flavonoids. Flavonoids is a type of natural antibiotic responsible for much of its anti-bacterial, antiviral antiseptic and antioxidants properties. The antioxidants affects of bioflavonoids help to slow down the ageing process by maintaining a healthy and youthful skin.
It boosts the immune system by stimulating the thymus gland to produce more white blood cells, which the body uses to rid itself of viruses, poisons and other metabolic waste products. Propolis selectively destroys harmful bacteria while leaving the 'useful' bacteria alone.
Note: It is recommended that children younger than 1 year of age should not be given honey.
